On 30 March 2017 the EU-Gulf Information Centre hosted an important international experts’ panel called From Crisis to ISIS: Debating (De) Radicalization in Europe. This Debate intended to tackle the issue of political and religious extremism and methods that may be undertaken in order to limit, halt and turn-back the tide of extremism that continues to challenge European values of political openness and liberalism. This Expert’s Debate brought decision-makers, scholars and the interested public together, from across Europe, to flesh-out problems and potential solutions, to discuss and understand both national strategies, and also limitations.
